I almost managed to quit!
But then my boss almost doubled my wages. Not really something any sane person should refuse in these times.
Currently the work has slowed to a crawl and we have 4 day workweeks. Not so bad, except I still have not gotten right down to getting some artwork done. Still working on it....

Well, this again.
I realised the other night that I've hardly had any time to even -consider- working on art since I got this job. This happened to me before, when I was at a similarly unkind workplace. I ended up leaving on the half-excuse that I needed time to work on my portfolio and personal art. The part time job I had after that was perfect, even if it was only netting me just enough to scrape by on.
I feel like I could do much more right now if I had a part-time job instead... go back to figure drawing classes, for example, because my skills are really starting to show their disuse. I should be able to make enough with 5 years of experience in my field
Dust!
I have a really old scanner. I have to spot correct the dust (from under the glass) off every scan, as well as remove the lines the scanner puts onto the picture. SO! It's high time I bought a new one. What are people using these days to scan fine art?
Back to Basics
Not much has been posted here in a bit, but not for lack of work. I've noticed a stiffness in my art of late and so I haven't wanted to post stuff. It's been plaguing me for a while now.
So I'm going to be doing a style revamp and see if I can loosen up a bit. I'll still do realistic work, but I want to see if I can work on a slightly less detailed look that will make me and my art less caged in by accurate detail.
I also have been told many times that my pencil work and sketches have much more life and sensitivity to them than my finished works so I may force myself to work in black and white again :) (Force isn't exactly right, but it is
Messages
I just want to mention: with the message center changes pending, there is absolutely no way I will be able to get to all the messages I've been meaning to get to since 2007. I like to visit the DA pages of people who have favorited me... the problem with that is that I got a lot of favorites from the Sun and Moon piece and kinda permanently fell behind. So... good intentions I have, but it is somewhat unrealistic to try and do that at this point.
